1. Mark the stud positions with a magnetic detector every 16 in along the wall.
2. Set the first panel plumb; the rest line up edge to edge with no visible join.
3. Screw through the felt between the slats into the studs (color-matched screws disappear from view), or apply a bead of high-strength construction adhesive along the back of the panel.
4. Step back — slats run floor to ceiling with no seams.
Panels can be cut to length with a fine-tooth saw. Keep panels at least 2 in clear of forced-air vents and radiators.
